Reflective Narrative: Technology is every changing in this rapidly evolving world. What has set humans apart from most other life on Earth has been our use of tools. It's more important than ever to be able to effectively use the ever changing tools that are available in order to be continue on in our daily lives. In all honesty all of my classes taken at CSUMB should probably be on here, all of our courses here require use of ilearn to stay up to date, and most classes here have some online aspect to them, but I'm going to focus on the classes that stand out to me. My first semester here at CSUMB I took WLC 300: World Languages and Cultures Major Pro Seminar which is taught by all of the staff in the WLC department here at CSUMB. During the course we learn more about what is going to required of us in order to graduate from CSUMB. We create our ILP with an advisor, create the shell for this, our E-portfolio, and get a look into the various career possibilities associated with our majors. Mr. Gus Leonard was very helpful during this class for all of our technology related questions, and has been very helpful all throughout my time at CSUMB when it comes to technology, I want to give him a big thank you for all of his help. It would be a little over a year until I took my next courses related to this MLO, which I took in my last semester here at CSUMB. JAPN 380: Japan: Land and People with Dr. Saito-Abbott. Even though we met in person, the course was largely built to be taught online and all of our work outside of presentations is done online, including tests and quizzes. It was also fun when we would create sentences together on a Google Doc in class using the given grammar points. Finally there's WLC 400: WLC Major Capstone with Dr. Shigeko Sekine and Dr. Carolyn Gonzalez. this class is the accumulation of everything we've worked towards at CSUMB, with the help of Dr. Sekine and our given advisors we create a research paper and presentation. We have to use various technological resources such as various library tools to find sources, use Google Docs and Google Slides in order to work together as group on our shared capstone project and proficient use of food delivery services to save time on going out. Maybe not that last one, but we did need to learn how to effectively create a survey using Google Forms and mass distribution of the survey through email and LINE. On a side note, we also had to become accustomed to using ZOOM during our last semester due to the shelter in place induced by the COVID-19 pandemic, hopefully someone is reading this in the future and we're all having a laugh about that part of our history. I want to give a large thank you to Dr. Shigeko Sekine for all of the time she spent with us during the semester so we could have quality capstone projects.
